Taylors Gap to Myrtleford 10.5 kilometre - Murray to Mountains Rail Trail


Park your car at Taylors Gap, and hit the trail towards Gapsted but not before looking east to that magnificent view of the Victorian Alps and breathe.

Abundant with natural beauty, this stretch of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is as ardently Australian with gum trees either side as it is agricultural with rows of local vines and fertile farmland.

The trail will take you into the buzzing Alpine town of Myrtleford, where you should take your time to browse through the shops and take in a spot of lunch. This 10.5 kilometre jaunt of the Murray to Mountains is ideal for riding legs of all ages and abilities as it's mostly downhill.

If you have organised a car shuttle, you're sitting pretty, otherwise remember there's the uphill return trip, which can be little more strenuous.

With over 100 kilometres of sealed off-road trails, The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is the perfect way to discover the diverse and ever-changing landscape of North East Victoria. From natural bush land to verdant farmland, delightfully unexpected hidden valleys and some of Australia's most spectacular mountain ranges.

Myrtleford Golf Club, situated in Myrtleford, just over three hour's drive from Melbourne, offers 18 holes of superb, watered couch grass fairways and manicured grass greens.

Motorised carts/buggies and club hire are available.

Ladies competition on Tuesday and Thursday and Men's competition every Wednesday and Saturday.

Green fee players are most welcome with bookings taken over the phone or online.

A Harvest Feast with Stefano Manfredi


Stefano 'Steve' Manfredi is an Italian-born chef, author and leading exponent of modern Italian cuisine in Australia. He has opened and operated several restaurants in Sydney since 1983, most notably The Restaurant Manfredi and Bel Mondo.

As part of the La Fiera Festival, Gapsted Wines and Chestnuts Australia will be hosting 'A Harvest Feast with Stefano Manfredi'. This evening will include a four course meal designed and prepared by Steve Manfredi himself.

Each course will be carefully paired with their premium wines. Along with a Gapsted Wines' winemaker, Steve will lead you through a journey of food and wine pairing.

This event is sure to be memorable and showcase our region's best produce and also the best of their Italian heritage. Tickets are all inclusive and seating will be limited so bookings are essential.

Myrtleford Golden Spurs Rodeo


The Myrtleford Golden Spurs Rodeo is a great day out for the whole family. Riders and ropers from around Australia will be competing for $50,000 in prize money including the $5,000 bull ride chute-out.

Catch all the action live on the big screen featuring instant replays. This year sees the 63rd consecutive rodeo held at the show grounds.

Gates open at 11:00am and the main event starts at 4:00pm.

The Myrtleford Festival


Held in the heart of northeast Victoria's High Country region every March Labour Day weekend, the Myrtleford Festival is an annual event traditionally held in celebration of the region's harvests, and is now a public celebration bringing together both community and visitors.

It will be a huge day, showcasing the very best of the region on a plate; with a range of activities for absolutely everyone, full of fun, food, markets, fine arts, demonstrations, kid's carnival, wildlife exhibit and of course free live entertainment.

The main day being Sunday 12 March, 2017 (a big change from previous years). The Great Alpine Road will be closed on the Sunday, linking the wonderful Myrtleford Piazza and Jubilee Park for a super pedestrian and family friendly event.

Free entertainment from 10:00am to 10:00pm - featuring Jeff Cabalar, Liv Cartledge, Route 61, a sensational town parade, then a party in the Piazza from 6:00 to 10:00pm with The Free Spirits, Jammin' On and major act The Pigs (past finalists on Australia's Got Talent). Plus, a special Youth Precinct (stage, music D.J's and much more).

North East Skate Park Series 2017 - Skate-Scoot-BMX Competition


The North East Skate Park Series is an all ages youth Skate, BMX, Scooter and music event which will be held at skate parks across the Indigo and Alpine region.

The North East Skate Park Series is presented by Indigo and Alpine Shires and funded by the Victorian State Government through the FReeZA Funding. FReeZA is an innovative youth development program providing young people between the ages of 12 and 25 with the opportunity to attend affordable and accessible music and cultural events in safe, fully supervised, drug, alcohol and smoke-free venues across the Victoria.
