Cape Liptrap Coastal Park

Stretching along the coast from the sand barrier of Point Smythe to the sheltered waters of Waratah Bay, Cape Liptrap Coastal Park has strikingly beautiful scenery.

The coastal park transforms from being a peaceful coastal area to wild, windy and awe inspiring in stormy weather. Whatever the season, Cape Liptrap Coastal Park is worth exploring.

How to get there
Cape Liptrap Coastal Park is situated 160 kilometres south east of Melbourne. It is reached from the South Gippsland Highway at Leongatha or the Bass Highway from Inverloch.

Aboriginal Traditional Owners
Parks Victoria acknowledges the Aboriginal Traditional Owners of Victoria - including its parks and reserves. Through their cultural traditions, the Boon Wurrung, Bunurong and Gunaikurnai identify the Cape Liptrap Coastal Park as their Traditional Country. Further information is available from Aboriginal Affairs Victoria AAV and Native Title Services Victoria.

Great bushwalks extend from under an hour to over three days. Visitors can camp, caravan or stay in huts, cabins, wilderness retreats or lodges at Tidal River where there is a general store and take-away food shop.

Walkerville North: Events

The Gathering

Drawing on artists who have exhibited in the past at Gecko Studio Gallery, along with a number of new artists, The Gathering is the next exhibition to open at this popular contemporary gallery in Fish Creek.

The exhibition is Gecko's second annual winter/spring exhibition which will run through to 19 November, when they will kick off once again with their monthly exhibitions through the summer and autumn months.

The Gathering is an extension of the Stockroom at Gecko, which means if you decide you would like to purchase an artwork from the exhibition, you can take it away before the exhibition closes, making this a fluid, ever changing showcase of artists for the five month duration.

Some of the artists in this exciting exhibition include Kate Zizys, Susan Purdy, Peter Cole, Geoffrey Ricardo, Christine Larsen, Leigh Fraser, Tommy Pau, Dennis Leversha, Chris Tuttle, Adam Nudelman, Owen Rye and Kerry Spokes, with some surprise additions along the way!
