Cannington

Home of the first-class Cannington Central greyhound racing track and the extensive Westfield Carousel shopping centre, this densely-populated south-eastern Perth suburb, about seven kilometres from the CBD, is home to broad, sweeping parklands which follow the Canning River as it meanders its way, growing wider all the time, to join the Swan River at South Perth.

These parklands traverse several suburbs and contain many fine picnicking spots and barbecuing facilities from which to choose.
