The ride from the James Estate cellar door takes you back down the driveway and though the working winery and vineyard.

All trails are suitable for most ages and fitness levels although some mountain bike experience is recommended. Riders will encounter some natural and man made obstacles, short steep sections some fast downhill and sandy patches.

All trails are rideable two ways so take it easy out there with your fellow mountain bikers.

The Ridge Walk showcases the natural beauty of the region with commanding views in all directions, overlooking James Estate winery, Wollemi National Park, Goulburn River National Park and Mount Dangar.

The full trail is a signed four kilometre (return trip) grade three walk. To fully appreciate the experience it is best to allow 1.5 hours for the walk from the James Estate cellar door. For the less energetic there is a shorter walk available that still affords spectacular views of the winery, vineyards, the Goulburn River and Wollemi National Park.

A grade three walk is suitable for most ages and fitness levels although some bush walking experience is recommended. Walkers will encounter some natural obstacles, loose terrain and short steep sections, so sturdy footwear is highly recommended.

St Alban's Church of England was built 1864-69 to the design of famous English Architect Sir George Gilbert Scott, under the supervision of E.T. Blackett and J.H. Hunt. It is unique as the only known church of his design to be built in Australia. In the 1880s the wooden bell tower and the fence, both designed by John Horbury Hunt were added. In 1914 the clock and bells were provided to the tower in memory of Archdeacon White.

St Alban's took five years to complete and was dedicated by Bishop Tyrrell on 17th June, 1869. It stands as a memorial to the faith of the early settlers of New South Wales.

St Alban's is unusual as the parish endowed an annual organ scholarship in the memory of Father Geoffrey, later Bishop Parker. It is awarded through competition carrying a cash prize of AUD1000, a generous amount for a regional parish.

The Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre is located on the New England Highway, three hours drive northwest of Sydney and two hours from Newcastle. The town of Muswellbrook lies in the Upper Hunter region among a diverse rural and industrial economy encompassing coal mining, farming, vineyards and the horse industry.

The Arts Centre was originally established as a regional gallery in 1976, it was housed in a purpose built annexe attached to the Muswellbrook School of Arts. The new Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre was commissioned in July 2000 at a cost of more than AUD1.7 million.

The Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre presents travelling exhibitions, local exhibitions and art prizes (including the Muswellbrook Photographic Award and the biennial Muswellbrook Open Art Prize) along with periodic selections from the permanent collection.

Muswellbrook Heritage Walk is approximately 4.5 kilometres long and may be commenced from M.M. Hyndes Bailey and Co Surveyors, 208 Bridge Street, or the Railway Station, Market Street.

You can start and stop at any point and pick up again at another time where you left off. Fine old buildings dating back to the mid-1800s, grand residences, community precincts - testimony to the good times and hard times; all of great importance to the development of Muswellbrook - roads, rail, bureaucracy, arts and culture, entertainment, business and community.
