Clarendon Forest Retreat Horse Riding

Clarendon scenic horse riding offers some of the best riding trails in NSW.

At Clarendon they prize their horse riding for being fun and exciting. The trail horses are responsive and quiet and they offer options for every experience level.

The many different trails into the surrounding forest valleys will allow you to experience the magic of the State forests and reserves, sometimes alive with fascinating animal and birdlife. Many of these tracks allow long canters for experienced riders, gentle walking rides will be appreciated by others.

Long pants, and joggers are the minimum requirements, long sleeved shirts are suggested. A weight limit of 100 kilograms applies.

Horse trail rides must have a minimum of two riders.

Black Head Beach

Located midway between Taree and Forster is the coastal area of Hallidays Point, taking in Black Head Beach.

Black Head Beach is a multi-award winning beach under the Keep Australia Beautiful Program. It is patrolled during summer and regarded as one of the best swimming beaches in the Manning Valley. It features shady Norfolk Island Pines, an ocean pool, excellent fishing opportunities, picnic areas, and barbecues.

Black Head has a supermarket, caf?s, bowling club, and surf lifesaving club. The Black Head Markets are held in Wylie Breckenridge Park on the first Sunday of the month, from September to May.

The Black Head Surf Lifesaving Club overlooks the beach, and is available to hire for functions.

Meander along the rainforest walk which encompasses striking coastal landforms and rare tracts of littoral rainforest, a must for nature lovers and keen photographers.

Black Head Bowling Club

Black Head Bowling club is situated on the headland in Black Head village with panoramic views overlooking the scenic coastline.

Facilities at the Club include TAB, pokies, Keno, cable television, sports bowling greens, fishing club and community centre.

When visiting the area, you are welcome to go and join with the locals for a game of bowls.

Marg's Bistro is open seven days and has a wide variety of meals including everything from delicious hamburgers to a selection of seafoods.

Red Head Beach

Red Head Beach at Hallidays Point is a quiet beach area just north of Black Head Beach, ideal for relaxing strolls.

Meander along the rainforest walk which encompasses striking coastal landforms as well as rare tracts of littoral rainforest: a must for nature lovers and keen photographers. The walk takes in two headlands - Black Head and Red Head - and is joined by Black Head Beach. Information about the walk is available from the Visitors Centre in Taree or the Hallidays Point Library.

Accommodation close to Red Head Beach consists of a holiday park which has a large number of self-contained ocean and surf villas, powered and unpowered camping sites. There are also self-contained apartments available for rent.

Car parking is available adjacent to the beach at the end of Red Head Road.

Honeycomb Valley Farm

Just one minute off the Pacific Highway at Nabiac, this little farm is a small family run business doing things just a little bit differently!

MidCoast Brickfest

Rainbow Bricks is excited to announce they are returning on Sunday March 4. They have renamed the event to better reflect the area they are displaying in.

There will be lots new exhibits as their LEGO creators have been busy building since last year's event. Talk to the creators about their displays and see what can be done with LEGO bricks and some imagination.

Their exhibitors come from the Hunter Valley, Central Coast and Sydney bringing their creations for you to enjoy. Old favorites like the City layout will be back with lots of movement, lights and working trains.

As well as the exhibits there will be the always popular Build Area for the kids to play in.

There will be a barbecue and Cake stall featuring the famous Lego themed cookies and cakes. As well as slushies and coffee van for you to enjoy.

Plus there will be Lego sets, parts, and other Lego merchandise for sale on the day. So start saving your pocket money.

Once again Rainbow Bricks is supporting Hallidays Point Public School P and C with proceeds from the event going to the P and C.

Opera by the Lake

The Rotary Club of Great Lakes and the Great Lakes Creative Network have come together to bring you an afternoon full of culture by the beautiful Wallis Lake - an Opera Gala to remember with arias and ensembles from the world's most adored operas.

For 2017 they have an amazing ensemble from Voci Stupende performing and String Musicians Australia will provide the pre show entertainment.

In the beautiful setting of Tuncurry's John Wright Park, this operatic celebration is presented on the open air stage in the park and fully seated - this will be one not to miss, with wine and food also on offer.Join them in the glamour and gorgeousness of Opera in the great outdoors!
