Pioneer Park


This nature reserve features Yellow Box woodland and is home to a variety of animals, including kangaroos, echidnas and koalas. Bird watchers can view white-throated treecreepers, common bronzewings, restless flycatchers, robins and butcherbirds. The park contains a variety of trails for use by hikers and mountain bikers. The hiking trail to the top of the park takes around 1 hour return and affords excellent views of Cootamundra. The mountain bike trails offer steep, rough terrain. The park features a few black diamond mountain bike trails for advanced cyclists.

Migurra Reserve


Take a Short walk through an ironbark and greybox woodland community at Migurra Reserve.

Co-funding for fencing, track construction,and erosion control came from the NSW state TCM enhancement program as well as the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT).

Activities at the reserve include bird watching, nature walks, Gardiners Lookout viewing place and picnic area.

Migurra Reserve is managed by Dudauman Frampton Landcare group volunteers.

Train Stop Antiques

Cootamundra Visitor Information Centre and Heritage Centre


The Cootamundra Visitor Information Centre is located on the Olympic Highway next to the railway station, Caravan, coach and bus parking is available on the road next to the Centre.

The historic building was formerly used as a barracks, and is also home to the Cootamundra Heritage Centre. The Centre houses an eclectic display of historical items relevant to Cootamundra and district in a large main gallery (former dining room), kitchen and 14 smaller galleries. Featured items include a locally built motorcycle from 1912, Henry Tie's eagle, a completely furnished barracks bedroom, a wall of remembrance, Aboriginal display and tribute to the Cootamundra Jazz Band.

The Cootamundra Art and Craft Centre offers top quality locally handmade items for sale.

There is a weekly gathering of a craft group on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - coming together for quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet, and chatting.

The Arts Centre Cootamundra


The Arts Centre Cootamundra is a community built, organised and controlled arts facility.

It exists to provide a venue and facilities for Arts activities in the Cootamundra Gundagai Regional Council area. Battle on the Bidgee


The committee invites you to be part of the 8th annual 'Battle on the Bidgee Stockman's Challenge'. The first two days of competition consist of the challenge preliminary events; Stock Handling, Packhorse, Whip Crack, Bareback Obstacle, Horseshoeing and Cross Country.

On Day Three of the challenge, the top ten Open Competitors will compete in a wild horse catch and poley buck jump. The top five Lady Competitors will also compete in a wild horse catch and a working cow horse event, while the top five Junior's will battle it out in a time trial and steer ride.
The novice category is here to stay, with the top three novice men and top three novice ladies competing in a working cow horse event.

There will be an Open Campdraft, a bush gymkhana with the best local cowboys and cowgirls testing their skills against some of the toughest stock in the country and The Evan Imlay Brumby Challenge.

On Saturday night, there will be a live band. Kids will not be forgotten with kids games on the Friday night and a kid's gymkhana on Saturday for fun on their horses, providing a fun environment hosted by the Gundagai Pony Club.

Gundagai Rodeo


The Gundagai Rodeo is a premier event on the national rodeo circuit, being held at the Gundagai Rodeo Grounds on O.I. Bell Drive.

As the final event on the ABCRA calendar, competition is fierce for those last national championship points, and the nation's top cowboys and cowgirls will all be in town as part of their quest for a coveted national title. Spectacular action is guaranteed, from the finals of the blue-ribbon Open Bull Ride under lights in the main arena, down to the aspiring young cowboys in the Poddy Ride.

See Australia's best cowgirls 'turn and burn' in the Barrel Race and experience all the thrills and spills of the Rope and Tie and Steer Wrestling finals.
