Griffith Centenary Sculptures

Griffith celebrated 100 years of progress in 2016. The Centenary Celebrations hinged around the 17 day International Sculpture Symposium, which was held during May. Seven of the world's best hard stone sculptors converged on Griffith to transform 20 tonnes of granite into beautiful pieces of public art. The granite sculptures, which reflect the theme 'Griffith's cultural diversity and the meaning of water' are located on Centenary Walk, in the IOOF Park in Kookora Street.

The sculptures were launched in August during the Centenary of Griffith celebrations. Story and signboards provide details of the international sculptors and the generosity of the local business community and people of Griffith. Lit at the night - the Sculptures make great night viewing.

Griffith Spring Fest - Citrus Sculptures

Griffith comes alive with an amazing display of more than 70, larger than life, three dimensional Citrus Sculptures. The Citrus Sculptures line the main street of Griffith, creating a spectacular gateway to the city and are on display for two weeks. The Sculptures are wacky and creative and include a grand piano, a giant guitar, a chook, talking robot and a Cinderella carriage with horses.

The Sculptures are unique to Australia, and are based on the famous lemon sculptures of Menton, France. They are created using 100,000 oranges and rubber bands, and an army of 700 volunteers, young and old. Sculptures are created by schools, service clubs, community groups and multi-national companies - it is a fabulous community event.

The Sculptures are the hero event of the Griffith Spring Fest.
