Pioneer Women's Hut Museum


The Pioneer Women's Hut at Glenroy Heritage Reserve is one of the best and most unusual small museums in Australia. Cleverly themed, it reflects the ingenuity of women in finding solutions to the challenges of looking after a family in early rural Australia. The accessibility and provenance of the diverse collection adds to its reputation.

The Heritage Quilt Room exhibition is now open and displays "The Gift of Thrift" exhibition. Entry to this exhibition is AUD5 per person.

Tumbarumba Artists On Parade Co-operative Ltd is a not for profit, community based gallery and artist workspace, run by local artists and volunteers.

Nest is a licensed cafe restaurant, boutique armchair cinema and beautiful bookstore with gifts and produce, all in one cosy space in the Snowy mountains foothills.

Boggy Creek Show


The Boggy Creek Show is an outstanding representation of Australia's unique Snowy Mountains heritage. Their presence for three generations in these wild and wonderful mountains has left them with a legacy from the past, with which they live today. You are invited to come and be inspired with breathtaking landscapes and experience this legacy through an authentic mountain farm show.

The two hour live performance includes: amazing Snowy Mountains horsemanship with stock and packhorse, mustering, whip cracking, working Kelpie dogs, unique Aussie humour (laughs and legends), stories about Australian history and mountain heritage, farm animals, sheep shearing, learn about a working Angus cattle stud; spectacular views of Mt Kosciuszko, Australia's highest mountain.

There is an under cover seating area, billy tea, cake and biscuits.

Hume and Hovell Track - Henry Angel Trackhead


The Henry Angel Trackhead is a popular camping area with good facilities including electric and gas barbecues. It is located around nine kilometres from the town of Tumbarumba on the Tooma Road.

The picnic and camping area is a base for short and longer walks along the Hume and Hovell Track, especially walking up and downstream exploring the Burra Creek and its significant mining history. Dogs not permitted on the track which crosses private land. Information boards are located at the track head.

The entire Hume and Hovell Track stretches 426 kilometres from Yass to Albury, and retraces the footsteps of explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell on their expedition to Port Phillip in 1824.

Walkers should be adequately clothed with sturdy walking boots. Maps and more information are available from the Tumbarumba Visitor Information Centre.

Bendigo Bank Tumbafest


On the last weekend in February of each year since 1997, the township of Tumbarumba plays host to 'Bendigo Bank Tumbafest' - a celebration of music, wine and food.

Truly a celebration of country lifestyle, this two-day Festival is overflowing with country hospitality. Attractions include a jam-packed schedule of Main Stage entertainment, sublime local wines and tastings, food stalls, market stalls, as well as activities and entertainment for children.

The festival program ensures a magical time for Festival-goers. Tumbafest continues to grow each year and has become a fixed event on many local and visitor's calendars.

Hume and Hovell Ultra


2019: The Hume and Hovell Ultra 100 kilometres has been selected by the Australian Ultra Running Association, AURA, as the Long Trail, Australian National Championships as part of the event.

Hume and Hovell Ultra - 100 mile, 100 kilometres, 50 kilometres and 22 kilometres on a section of the historic Hume and Hovell Walking Track with an overall elevation of 4088 metres. All distances except the 22 kilometres are out and back from Henry Angel Trackhead, nine kilometres south of Tumbarumba on the Tooma Road.

Located in the stunning Snowy Mountains, the Hume Hovell Ultra will challenge your ability as well as inspire your success. Run with the wild brumbies, past pioneer cottages and through rugged mountain ranges, natural forests, pine plantations, past lakes and waterfalls, along narrow winding (95 percent) of single trails.

Bonus drop bag stations, spot trackers for the 100 milers and an amazing country hospitality welcome. All finishers receive medals and certificates. Recognised by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) , earning points to enter the prestigious Ultra Trail Mont Blonc (UTMB). International Bronze Label holder and under the Australian Ultra Runners Association (AURA) banner.

Tumbarumba Rodeo


Tumbarumba Rodeo is held every year on New Year's Day.

This is a full APRA Championship Rodeo with a host of fun-filled events including local barrel race, poddy ride, bucking ponies, stallion chute out, poly saddle ride, Aussie Rules versus Rugby League steer ride challenge, saddle bronc and bareback, and bull ride featuring the big ScreenBull cam, chute cam and instant replays.
