Crawford House


Crawford House is the home of the Alstonville Plateau Historical Society, Community Resource Centre, and a small museum. In 2003 the Society restored this Federation style property which displays household items from the 1900s to the 1960s.

It has a research room and a collection of materials relating to the history of Alstonville.

Originally known as 'Olivene', the house was built in 1910 by DC Connor of Ballina for Mr William Ambrose Crawford and his new bride, Olive (nee White).

Summerland House Farm

Frank Miles Bronze Fine Art Studio


Frank Miles bronze sculpture 'Steptoe' (Pelican) can be viewed at Lance Ferris wharf at Fawcett Park, on Ballina's Richmond River. Some of Frank's sculptures can be viewed at his gallery situated next to his studio in Alstonville. Works can also be ordered directly from his online gallery.

Frank is happy to provide a short tour of current work plus discuss techniques and designs, as well as private or public commissions. FootGolf - Teven Valley Golf Course


The best game ever invented, is now at Teven Valley Golf Course.

Launched in Europe only three years ago, the popularity of FootGolf is sweeping the globe and Teven Valley Golf Course is the fourth course in Australia to offer the opportunity to play.

What is FootGolf? FootGolf is a unique combination of football (soccer) and golf.

The object of the game is to kick a soccer ball around a golf course into 52 centimetre holes beside the greens or in the rough. The rules basically follow the rules of golf. FootGolf is a faster game than golf, requiring less equipment and is great fun for men and women of all ages.

Relay For Life Ballina - Cancer Council


Relay for Life is an overnight, community event where teams of 10 to 15 people participate in a relay-style walk or run to raise funds for the Cancer Council.

In New South Wales around 40,000 people each year take part in Relay For Life. Some people do the relay in memory of a loved one who has passed away from cancer, some do it to show how proud they are at having survived cancer and some just love to be involved in their community.

Call into the Summerland House Farm to access the Alstonville Visitor Information Centre for information on the local area. The friendly staff can provide you with a range of information on local attractions, upcoming events, assistance with accommodation and other services as required.

Maps and brochures are also available, together with a selection of souvenirs and other great merchandise.

While you are there, explore Summerland House Farm, including tractor farm tours which take you around the wonderful surroundings of the farm a grocer and the cottage museum. Watch the kids have a ball in the water park after playing a round of mini golf. Don't forget to check out the newest family attraction on the farm, 'pick your own tomatoes'! Come along between 10 and 12 everyday and have the opportunity to pick your own locally grown cherry or big red tomatoes fresh from the ground.
