Melbourne to Adelaide

Melbourne - Lorne - Warrnambool - Naracoorte - Kingston - Adelaide

This beautiful journey is packed full of rich experiences and stunning sights. Whether you drive from Melbourne to Adelaide or vice versa, you must take the time to explore the coastline. The iconic Great Ocean Road stretches 275km from Torquay to Port Fairy, and the route will have you driving through beautiful towns such as Lorne and Apollo Bay, and seeing landmarks such as the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge.

Cross the border in to South Australia's Limestone Coast region and from Mount Gambier head northbound, inland to wine country. The Coonawarra is highly regarded for its robust Cabernet Sauvignon and cool climate white varieties.

It's well worth the time to take the coastal route after visiting the Coonawarra as the South Australian coastline is dotted with charming seaside towns such as Robe and Kingston SE. The Princes Highway takes you along the beautiful Coorong and from there you can head through either the Fleurieu Peninsula or Adelaide Hills to Adelaide.
