Pearn's Steam World

Pearn's Steam World is a collection of historic agricultural machinery at Westbury, Northern Tasmania.
Pearn's Steam World is the creation of the Pearn family, who operated an agricultural business in the Westbury district for over 80 years. In the 1950's the family began collecting steam engines, farming machinery and equipment, and now have over 200 original and restored machines dating from the late 19th century.
We have fantastic examples of steam traction engines, tractors, stationary engines and agricultural memorabilia on display. The collection features Foden, Marshall, Buffalo Pitts, Aveling Porter, Eclipse and Birdsall steam engines, many of which are over 100 years old. Unusual tractors include restored Marshalls, Lanz, John Deere, Saundersons and Titans. See the exhibits come alive via the new audio visual display, "Alive and Threshing" or witness the changes in agriculture through the lives of four generations of Pearn women, in the exhibition "Women on the March". Children can enjoy free train rides on the narrow gauge track around the complex. There are regular steaming days so you can see some of the restored engines in their full glory.
Westbury is a historic-classified town, a 25-minute drive west of Launceston and a one-hour drive south-east of Devonport.

The Liffey River rises on the northern edge of the Great Western Tiers and plunges through dense rainforest of myrtle, sassafras and leatherwood, running over several magnificent waterfalls before reaching rich farmlands and joining the South Esk River.
There are four sets of falls along the 45-minute return walk from the picnic ground downhill to the majestic Victoria Falls (commonly referred to as Liffey Falls), all of which can be viewed from sturdy observation decks.

Rupertswood Farm Crop Maze

Rupertswood Farm Crop Maze is an agri-tourism event that is held on our Tasmanian family farm each year. Attracting around 5,000 visitors annually, the Crop Maze is a fantastic day out for visitors to explore our bespoke Crop Maze - the only one in Australia - and visit our beautiful farm! The Crop Maze is open during to the public every March.
To develop the Crop Maze owners, Rowan and Anna Clark, work with international UK Maze specialists, Mazescape, each year to develop a new maze design to fit with a particular theme they have chosen. Rowan then 'cuts' the Maze into his five hectare maize crop, and customised games are developed for visitors to play within the Maze.
The Maze is open to the public to explore for a limited time (five weekends in March), before the crop is harvested. In addition to the Maze, there are other farm attractions in the maze courtyard for families to enjoy, such as hay bale structures for children to climb and vegetables to pick.
Gourmet food sourced from the farm is also on offer to visitors.
