The Lobster Ponds is a tourist and educational destination providing information about the endangered and threatened freshwater lobster, listed as the largest in the world.
You will have a guided tour of the ponds which is set in amongst Tasmania's trees.

Rocky Cape National Park


Rocky Cape National Park is a promontory extending out into Bass Strait in Tasmania's north-west. Rocky Cape's tracks, cliffs and beaches attract walkers and rock climbers.
The area's coastal heathlands bloom with wildflowers in summer and there's good fishing and diving around the shores.
Native wildlife is abundant. Take a torch on an evening walk and meet wallabies, wombats and possums.
The park entrance is five kilometres off the A2, 30 kilometres west of Wynyard.

Gone Nuts 101 Adventure Run


101 km adventure Run in North West Tasmania.
Starting in Stanley at the base of the iconic Nut. Competitors scale up the nut , complete a 2 kilometre loop around the top before descending down and heading off to the finishing line in Wynyard.
You will encounter water crossing , steep rocky terrain , white sandy beaches , single trail , forestry trails , private farming land only accessible on race day and stunning views.
Gone Nuts also offers a 50 kilometre race starting at Rocky Cape and a 25 kilometre race starting at Boat Harbour.
Race day is on 2 March 2019 and entries open on 12 August 2018.

Card Making Craft Class


Participants in this card making class will learn to make a variety of cards for many different occasions such as; the arrival of a new baby, birthday, thank you, anniversary, get well and sympathy cards.
You will be taught how to use different techniques and embellishments for the recipient of your card.
The class is held in a relaxed atmosphere and there is a range of supplies available.
The tutor has an extensive knowledge of this craft.
All classes are for two hours and there are two classes per day - 10am to 12pm and 12pm to 2pm.
Once you start, you will love it.

Tulip Festival Wynyard


The Bloomin' Tulips Festival is an annual one day event set in the beautiful Gutteridge Gardens on the banks of the Inglis River. It is a full day of FREE entertainment, food and beverage stalls, kids activities and rides and a fireworks display at 9pm.
Why not stay in town fro a few days and also take the opportunity to walk through the largest publicly accessible area of tulips under cultivation in the southern hemisphere on Table Cape, and enjoy the superb floral showcase, art exhibition and light refreshments. Bulbs, flowers and potted colour are all for sale at the Table Cape tulip farm.
