Discover the grandeur and spirit of the Tasmanian wilderness on our Southwest Wilderness Experience. This new eight-hour tour explores the remote and harsh southern coasts and waterways of this rugged and beautiful region of Tasmania. Landing at Melaleuca Airport, we take to the water and explore the pristine waterways of The Port Davey Marine Reserve taking in Waterfall Bay and the Breaksea Islands. After a gourmet lunch featuring delicious Tasmanian produce, we disembark the vessel and explore the Melaleuca Museum and the Needwonnee Walk, a fantastic monument to the rich indigenous history of the area. Returning to the skies, we head inland over The Arthur Range, arguably Tasmania’s most spectacular mountain range. Taking in Mount Picton and The Huon Valley, we return to Hobart via Mount Wellington for a birds-eye view of the beautiful capital of Tasmania before landing back at Cambridge.~~~~

Join your tour at Cambridge Aerodome at 08:30 am to commence the tour. Take to the skies over the UNESCO World Heritage-Listed Southwest National Park to explore the remote waterways and wilderness. Track over Hobart's eastern suburbs and the Derwent River, following the D'Entrecasteaux Channel past Recherche Bay to Tasmanian's most southern point, South East Cape. Cruise along the South Coast Track all the way to Melaleuca where you will land on a remote airstrip. Here, your guides will take you along the Needwonnee Walk, an award-winning aboriginal interpretive experience which features elements of the 40,000 years history of the original inhabitants of the land. Afterwards, learn some more modern history at the Melaleuca Museum and enjoy the chance to see the critically endangered orange-bellied parrot at the Deny King Bird Hide. You will then embark on a scenic boat ride down Melaleuca Inlet and into Bathurst Harbour, Port Davey, an untouched waterway more than three times the size of Sydney Harbour. Admire the remote Celery Top islands, breath in the fresh air and experience true wilderness at its best. A delicious lunch showcasing some of Tassie's finest produce follows, paired with award-winning local wines. Soak Up the serenity of this quiet location and watch the world go by at a much slower pace. On your return to Cambridge Airport, you will cruise past Federation Peak and Mount Picton, before heading over Huonville and Hobart city. Tour concludes at approximately 04:30 pm.~~~~
