Greenvale Reservoir Park


The grassy slopes of the park are popular with large groups for picnics and games. Trails wind through the park, offering glimpses of native birdlife and views of the water.

The park offers over 53 hectares for visitors to take in, explore and enjoy. Features include walking paths, large open spaces, picnic facilities and free gas barbecues.

You can enjoy the peaceful surrounds and the tranquil views of the reservoir or simply relax under a tree and enjoy a sunny afternoon. The sound of birds and the breeze through the trees provides a relaxing change to the hustle and bustle of everyday city life.

One of the features of the park is 'Brodies Lakes'. This series of three ponds is ideal for observing birdlife and incorporating other wetland activities.

Woodlands Historic Park


Woodlands Historic Park provides a fascinating glimpse of the landscapes and wildlife seen by European settlers in the 1840s. The park has a 150-year old homestead, Indigenous canoe trees, native woodland and grassland.

Wander through the fenced 'Back Paddock' and see kangaroos, birds and other wildlife. The sight of large groups of wild kangaroos in their Australian bush habitat, is a magnificent, never-to-be forgotten experience.

Many walking trails are available through Woodlands Historic Park. The Meadows Racing Conference and Events Centre has a reputation for providing first class racing and hospitality. It is home to nine Group One greyhound races including the Australian Cup, Hume Cup and the best invitational greyhound race in the world - The Topgun.

Bulla Hill Railway


Bulla Hill Railway, operated by Tullamarine Live Steam Society, is located about eight kilometres from Melbourne Airport and offers scenic miniature train rides.

The railway is situated in a parkland area with picnic tables, children's playground and private picnic area with five picnic shelters, two electric barbecues and a kiosk at the station. There is ample free parking right outside the station building. Wheelchair access to the station and picnic area and a disabled toilet is also available to visitors.

Entry to Bulla Hill Railway is free, although to ride the train there is a small admission price. For more information see the website.

Bulla Hill Railway operates from 12 noon to 4:00pm on the first and third Sunday of each month.

Please note that enclosed footwear must be worn if you wish to ride on the trains.

Nioka Bush Camp


Nioka Bush Camp is a quiet retreat away from the stresses of city life. Stay overnight in the great outdoors, camping or in bunkhouse accommodation.

Explore the sights and sounds of of the bush on a pleasant bushwalk. The wildlife is varied and you might catch a glimpse of an Eastern Grey Kangaroo or a Sugar Glider.

Facilities provided include toilets, hot showers, non-powered campsites, bunkhouse accommodation, water, campfire ring (byo firewood), barbecues, hall with wood heater and kitchen.

Access the camp off Gordons Road via Plenty Road in South Morang.

Hawkstowe Picnic Area


Take a look back in time at the historic Hawkstowe Picnic Area. You'll be impressed by the brick and bluestone Le Page homestead, barn and stables.

Take a walk around the picturesque lakes. Sit on the jetty and discover the abundant wildlife. Maybe the friendly kangaroos will come and visit you.

The picnic area has toilets, electric barbecues and picnic shelters.

Take a look back in time at the historic Hawkstowe farm complex, which sits elegantly on the hill with views of the entire Park.

Extensive restoration works have been undertaken on the homestead building in recent times, returning it to its 1860's period. Surrounding the homestead is a cottage garden with mature exotic trees.

The Le Page Homestead is the home base for Plenty Valley Arts Inc, who offer arts based activities and events to the broader community.

Yan Yean Reservoir Park


Yan Yean Reservoir Park offers visitors peaceful picnic areas, a variety of walking tracks and breathtaking views of Melbourne's oldest water storage. Visit the extensive wetlands and watch the abundant birdlife that lives and feeds in this area.

The reservoir was Melbourne's first and has supplied the city with water since 1857. It was the plan of James Blackburn, a civil engineer who unfortunately died before ever seeing his dream developed. The historic bluestone valve house and stone water channel are reminders of the reservoir's history.

Funfields Theme Park


Every year since 2012 Funfields, Melbourne's Premier Theme Park has added new rides and attractions and this season will be no different.

You asked for it so Funfields is building It. The patrons have been asking for a pool and Funfields is going one step better and building Victoria's First Outdoor Heated Wave Pool.

It has taken over 720 cubic metres of concrete, that is 120 concrete trucks, and over 60 tons of reinforcing to build the wave pool with a capacity of 1.5 million litres of water pumping out waves up to one metre high.

Volcano Beach is Victoria's first outdoor heated wave pool and it is now open.

From its first incarnation as the Alpine Toboggan Park back in 1985, Funfields Theme Park has transformed into a world class amusement destination. Conveniently located in suburban Melbourne and only 40 kilometers from the Melbourne CBD, experience the ultimate day out at Funfields Theme Park.

Creedence Clearwater Revival recorded and performed in their own inimitable style. This first six-pack is an indulgence an homage an acknowledgment and a salute to six of the best songs from Creedence Clearwater Revival. Not only have Choirboys recorded these hits but they have decided to take them to a small number of selected venues for the full live experience - loud sweat driven, gritty and in your face.
