Lake Indoon

Lake Indoon is a picturesque freshwater lake and an ideal location to participate in a variety of water based activities. Spend a few days at the campsite to explore much of the lake which is renowned as a premier location for waterskiing.

Take a swim or jump in a canoe and explore the lake. Children will love the calm waters and the sandy beach which surrounds most of the lake.

Enjoy a walk along the beach to gain an appreciation of the sheer size of the lake and spot some of the varieties of water birds. Keep an eye out for the kangaroos and emus that inhabit the surrounding bushland.

Set up camp and enjoy the peaceful silence across the lake at night. The campsite offers fresh drinking water and hot and cold showers as well as barbecue facilities to cook your evening meal.

For lake level and conditions please contact the Shire of Carnamah.

Lake Indoon is a short drive from Carnamah and just less than four hours' drive north of Perth.

Stockyard Gully Caves

Stockyard Gully National Park is home to a fascinating group of limestone caves that lead to an underwater river system. The largest cave is an impressive sight. Walk through the 300 metre long cave which is covered by a sandy floor. The more adventurous will enjoy the challenge of the smaller caves which require a little more manoeuvring to get through.

Relax and enjoy a picnic amongst the trees, relishing in the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings. Keep an eye out for the variety of bird life and fauna that live here.

Ensure you bring plenty of water as there is no fresh water available. A four wheel drive vehicle is also necessary to reach the cave car-parks (approximately five kilometres of four wheel drive only road). All wheel drive vehicles are not appropriate due to height restrictions of limestone rock road base and soft sand driving.

Stockyard Gully National Park is three hours northeast of Perth, and a short drive from Coorow, Jurien Bay or Green Head.
