Perfectly situated in close proximity to Mitchell Falls, and beside a delightful waterhole on Camp Creek, Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge is the ideal base for exploring some of the Kimberley's most unforgettable attractions. Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge proudly boasts minimal impact on the surrounding delicate eco-system, giving guests the opportunity to be surrounded by untouched natural habitat. Stroll through the forest of Livistona palms and eucalyptus trees. The Wunambal people welcome you to explore Ngauwudu (Mitchell Plateau), home to astounding waterfalls and Aboriginal art.
Location: 70 km west from the Kalumburu and Mitchell Plateau Road junction.
Currently some of the roads leading to Mitchell Falls Lodge have very large corrugations making the drive very long, slow and at times challenging. Clients will also need to cross the King Edward River which is harder in the early parts of the season. Some roads accessing Mitchell Falls can be narrow, windy and challenging for self-drive passengers. At this stage contracted car and vehicle hire does not allow for travel on these roads and associated insurance polices will not cover this terrain.
The Mitchell Falls Wilderness lodge offers 24 tented Cabins featuring twin beds, private ensuited bathrooms, hot showers, flushing toilets, fresh linen, doona's and fluffy pillows. The architectually designed Ungolan Pavilion sets a new standard of luxury in the Kimberley, fusing modern Australian, local craft and indigenous influences. Opened in 2015, features include a lounge, bar, library and dining areas.
