Lady Elliot Island is a coral cay located on the southern tip of Australia's iconic Great Barrier Reef, 80kms north-east of Bundaberg, just north of Fraser Island. The Island is situated within a highly protected Green Zone of the Marine National Park and is a sanctuary for over 1,200 species of marine life. Lady Elliot Island is regarded as one of the best snorkelling and diving locations on the Great Barrier Reef and is renowned for its healthy coral reef and incredible marine life including turtles, manta rays, reef sharks and the entire cast of Finding Nemo.

Disabled facilities are limited on Lady Elliot Island. As most of the Islands walkways consist of crushed coral, wheelchair access is limited. We do have a disabled shower and toilet facility on the Island as well as limited wheelchair access, please contact our Reservations Team regarding any special needs.

Babysitting is available subject to staff availability, please advise when booking. Charges apply, payable direct.

Driving Info:
Located on the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef makes Lady Elliot Island easily accessible for visitors to South-East Queensland with four (4) convenient departure points.
Access is by aircraft only, flights depart daily from Bundaberg, Hervey Bay/Fraser Coast, Brisbane (Redcliffe) and the Gold Coast.
Bundaberg Airport - Parking is located directly in front of the terminal building. Secure Parking is available. Check in at the Lady Elliot Island/QantasLink counter.
Hervey Bay Airport - Security parking is available at Hervey Bay Car Storage, 7 Kruger Crt Urangan. Check in at the Lady Elliot Island counter.
Brisbane (Redcliffe) departures - Parking is available at the Redcliffe Airstrip. There is no secure parking. The pilot will meet you at the amenities block.
Gold Coast departures - The Lady Elliot Island/Seair Pacific hangar is located on Lores Bonney Circuit, Coolangatta. Street parking is available at the Seair Hangar.
Transfer Info:
The island has its own airstrip and offer scenic flight transfers from Bundaberg (approx. 30mins), Hervey Bay (approx. 40mins), Brisbane (Redcliffe, approx. 80mins) and the Gold Coast (approx. 100mins). There is no boat access to Lady Elliot Island due to its remote location, distance and time it would take to travel by boat to the outer edge of the outer southern Great Barrier Reef.
