- Rates are stated in Australian Dollars and are available at Budget Australia Tour Program Participating Locations.

- Inclusive Rate Program is NOT VALID for pick up or drop off at the following locations: Broome Airport, Bunbury, Carnarvon, Carnarvon Airport, Coober Pedy Airport, Esperance Airport, Exmouth, Geraldton Airport, Kalgoorlie, Kalgoorlie Airport, Karratha, Karratha Airport, Kununurra, Kununurra Airport, Learmonth, Mount Gambier Airport, Newman, Newman Airport, Olympic Dam Airport, Paraburdoo, Port Augusta, Port Augusta Airport, Port Hedland Airport, Whyalla Airport. 

Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF): Included in Rate. Applicable to all Australian Rentals.
Administration Fee: Included in the rate and applies to all Australian rentals at a charge of approximately 3.5%. Also applies to any additional items not included in the rate which are payable directly to Budget at time of rental.
Goods & Services Tax (GST): Included in Rate. Tax rate is 10%. Also applies to any additional items not included in the rate which are payable directly to Budget at time of rental.
Premium Location Surcharge (PLS) / Concession Recovery Fee (CRF): Included in Rate. Fee may also apply to any additional items which are payable directly to Budget at time of rental. The fee varies between locations and may be calculated at up to 33%.
Loss Damage Waiver: Included in Rate. Please refer to the Coverage Options section of these Terms & Conditions for further information.

KILOMETRE ALLOWANCE:

Metropolitan & Country Locations: Rates include unlimited kilometres.

Remote Locations (excluding Northern Territory/North West Western Australia): Rates include 100 kilometres per day. Excess kilometres are charged at 27.5c per kilometre.

DRIVERS LICENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

- Budget Australia will rent to drivers that present a current drivers licence and have held that licence for 12 months.

- Budget Australia will not rent to any person on a Provisional or Probationary drivers licence.

- If foreign licence is in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by an International Drivers Permit (containing an English translation).

COVERAGE OPTIONS:
Loss Damage Waiver:

Loss Damage Waiver is the coverage (included in the rates) provided on the rental vehicle and Third Party Property, which is subject to the excess. Loss Damage Waiver is subject to terms and conditions detailed on the rental agreement.

Standard Accident Excess: 

When a Budget vehicle is involved in an accident, zero excess is applicable providing the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and the laws of the state. Failure to adhere to the terms and conditions and laws of the state will result in the renter being responsible for all damage and costs associated with the vehicle.

Note: The renter must always pay to Budget the following costs and fees:


The cost of repairing any:&#8216;Overhead Damage&#8217; means damage (excluding hail damage) to the Vehicle during the Rental Period above the top of the front and back windscreens, damage to the box section of a commercial vehicle above the front windscreen or damage to third party property, caused by the Vehicle coming into contact with anything overhanging or obstructing its path, objects being placed on the roof of the Vehicle, or You or any person standing or sitting on the roof of the Vehicle; &#8216;Underbody Damage&#8217; means damage to the Vehicle during the Rental Period caused by the Vehicle coming into contact with anything below the bottom of the door seal and the bottom of the front and rear bumper bars where Avis considers, acting reasonably, that the driver of the Vehicle is reasonably at fault for that damage; You driving the Vehicle in a manner that results in total or partial inundation or immersion of the Vehicle in water or exposure of the Vehicle to salt water (including, without limitation, damage which occurs as a result of You driving the Vehicle through floods, creeks or rivers); damage to the Vehicle caused by a breach of clause 3, 4.1, 5.1 or 5.6 of the Avis Australia Rental Terms and Conditions (save, in respect of clause 4.1(m), for minor infractions); damage to a tyre or an Accessory not attributable to Fair Wear and Tear that is caused deliberately or recklessly by You; theft of the Vehicle, unless You report the Vehicle as stolen to the police immediately on becoming aware of the theft and provide a copy of the police report to Avis as soon as you receive it; or loss or damage to Your property, the property of a member of Your immediate family or of a person related to You if that loss or damage is from a breach of these terms and conditions. Water damage to the Vehicle Damage to the Vehicle or to the property of any third party caused by a breach of the Rental Agreement.Damage to a tyre or an Accessory not attributable to normal wear and tear The cost of any professional cleaning or odour extraction incurred by Avis because the driver or another person has been smoking in the Vehicle during the Rental Period and/or a reasonable administrative fee reflecting the cost of making arrangements for professional cleaning or smoke extraction.For the purposes of paragraphs (a) to (g) above, any reference to You includes an Authorised Driver and any person You or the Authorised Driver allow to drive the Vehicle


AGE REQUIREMENTS:

- CCAR, ICAR Vehicles - minimum 21 years of age.

- SCAR, CFAR, FCAR, FVAR, IFAR, FFAR, PFAR- minimum 25 years of age.

- No maximum age applies.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS:

Additional Driver fees will apply to each individual driver - with the exception of the lead driver's spouse.

- AUD5.00 + GST per day, per additional driver.

- Maximum charge AUD25.00 + GST per additional driver (5 day max charge).

- It is essential that proof of a valid driver's licence is provided and that the additional driver signs the rental agreement.

- The spouse of the lead driver includes someone (of any gender) they are married to or in a relationship with. 

ONE WAY RENTAL POLICY:

- All one way rentals are 'On Request' and subject to availability. 'On Request' means supply of the requested vehicle is subject to confirmation by Budget.

- All one way reservations must be submitted to Budget a minimum of 14 days prior to the start date of the rental.

- One way rental fees are payable in addition to the rental charges and are inclusive of GST. One way rental fees are payable direct to Budget at time of rental.

New South Wales (NSW), Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Victoria (VIC), Queensland (QLD), South Australia (SA)

One way rental fees are determined as per the table below, when renting between these States and Territories

Fees apply to rentals less than 72 hours (3 days x 24 hours) unless noted as an exception.

One Way Rentals Within Northern Territory

A minimum continuous rental duration of 4 days (4 days x 24 hours / 96 hours) is applicable for one way rentals commencing and returning within the Northern Territory, and a one way rental fee of AUD550.00 (incl GST) will always apply. One way rentals are provided 'On Request' and subject to availability.

One Way Rentals Within Western Australia

A minimum rental duration 5 days (5 x 24 hours / 120 hours) applies and a non waivable fee of AUD1,100 is applicable.

One way rentals are only permissible on the following vehicles ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, IFAR, and PFAR.

No one-way fee will apply to rentals commencing and returning at any Perth Rental Location.


- All Learmonth Airport (LEA) rentals will incur a AUD77.00 surcharge for collection and drop off of vehicles. This charge is subject to change without prior notification.

One Way Rentals &#8211; Into / Out of Northern Territory & Western Australia

A minimum rental duration of 7 days (7 x 24 hours) applies and a non-waivable one way fee of AUD1,100.00 (including GST) is applicable unless noted as an exception. 

One Way Rentals are only permissible on the following vehicles ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, IFAR and PFAR. One way rentals are provided 'On Request' and subject to availability.

ONE WAY RENTAL POLICY - EXCEPTIONS:
Cairns / Port Douglas - No one-way fee applies when renting between these locations.

Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast - No one-way fee applies when renting between these locations.

Tasmania

One way rentals within Tasmania do not incur a one way fee.

One way rentals into or out of Tasmania are not permitted.

RESTRICTED DRIVING ROADS / AREAS:

The below detailed driving restrictions apply to rentals on Budget Tour Rates. Should the Budget vehicle be driven over the restricted roads / areas detailed below, or on the Rental Agreement, Budget coverage

options will be void. Vehicle hire is subject to satisfactory road and weather conditions at all times.

General

The vehicle must only be used on roads that are properly formed and constructed as sealed, metalled or gravel roads (Unless the Vehicle is a 4 wheel drive vehicle).

All vehicles, including vehicle groups IFAR & PFAR, cannot be driven on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or floodwaters.

Vehicles rented from Mainland Australia may not leave the Mainland and be taken to Tasmania or any other island.

There are a number of roads in Northern Territory and Western Australia that are access roads to Aboriginal communities, driving is not permitted in these areas without an approved permit.

Queensland

Vehicles may not be driven beyond Chillagoe in a westerly direction or beyond Normanton in a southerly direction.

All vehicles may be driven on the main road to Cooktown. If driven off main road or north of Cooktown insurances may be void.

PFAR only may be driven on the coast road from Cape Tribulation to Cooktown. If driven north of Cooktown insurances may be void.

Vehicles may not be driven on the Birdsville Track.

Vehicles may not be taken to Fraser Island.

Vehicles may be taken to Magnetic Island.

Tasmania / Victoria / New South Wales / ACT

Vehicles may not be driven above the snow line in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria - being Jindabyne in New South Wales and Bright in Victoria, from the beginning of June until end of September.

Vehicles rented in Tasmania may not be taken to the Mainland and vice versa.

In Tasmania, vehicles may not be taken to Bruny Island.

Western Australia

Rentals commencing in Western Australia, south of Exmouth, may not be driven north of Exmouth unless a one way rental has been confirmed as per the One Way Rental Policy.

PFAR only be may be driven on Tunnel Creek Road, Windjana Gorge Road, Cape Leveque Road & Spring Creek Track to the Bungle Bungles.

Vehicles may not be driven on the Gibb River Road (Kimberley).

It is not recommended to travel on any road other than main highways 1 and 96 north of Geraldton.

Mine access roads in the Pilbara are private roads and cannot be driven on.

South Australia

Vehicles may not be driven on the Oodnadatta track.
Vehicles may not be taken to Kangaroo Island from the mainland. Please refer to separate Kangaroo Island rates for the terms and conditions for rentals on Kangaroo Island.

Northern Territory

Vehicles may not be driven on the Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls Roads (Kakadu) or Tanami Track.

PFAR only permitted on The Mereenie Loop Road.

Other vehicles are not permitted to drive on this road - as per the warning signs at each end of the road.

Driving through the Northern Territory and Western Australia - FCAR, IFAR and PFAR only.
Note that this does not apply to one way rentals that have been confirmed under the &#8220;One Way Rentals &#8211; Into / Out of Northern Territory and Western Australia&#8221; section of these terms and conditions.

When rented from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, FCAR, IFAR and PFAR can only be driven through the Northern Territory or Western Australia and vice versa during the dry season months April to November. Should assistance be required during this time it may not be possible. Should other vehicle categories be driven into the Northern Territory or Western Australia, or through the Northern Territory or Western Australia, coverage options will be void. It is essential that Budget are advised that rental commencement of the Budget vehicle will be driven through the Northern Territory or Western Australia so coverage options can apply. Standard coverage option restrictions will apply.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Budget reserves the right to amend all charges.

- Frequent Flyer / Traveller points are not applicable.

Miscellaneous Charges

- Vehicle Registration Fee, Administration Fee, Concession Recovery Fee or Premium Location Surcharge, One Way rental fees, kilometre charges, petrol deposit and tax are subject to change without prior notification.

Optional Charges

- Excess Reduction, Child Safety Seats, Portable GPS and any other additional products purchased at time of rental are subject to change without notification and are payable directly to Budget at the time of rental.

- Rates include GST but optional charges may also attract an Administration Fee and Concession Recovery Fee or Premium Location Surcharge.
- Child Infant Seats, Child Safety Seats or Child Booster Seats - Available on request (price includes GST): Daily AUD22.00 per day, or AUD88.00 per week to a maximum charge of AUD88.00 per rental. This is payable directly to Budget at time of rental.

General 

- Hotel deliveries/collections: All deliveries and collections are 'on request', subject to availability of staff and cannot be guaranteed. A fee may apply. Needs to be requested at the time of booking.

Tolls

- A number of motorways and city link roads in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are electronic tolls only and do not have toll booths. All renters must provide a credit card or debit card to enable Budget's partner LINKT to directly charge the applicable service fee and toll fee to the renter&#8217;s card.

- For further advice please see an Avis Rental Sales Agent on collection of the vehicle.

Deposits

- All rentals are subject to a deposit at the time of vehicle collection to cover miscellaneous/optional charges, and may also have to cover the applicable vehicle coverage options excess and a AUD100.00 fuel bond. A credit or debit card is required. Budget Australia accepts all major credit cards. Debit cards will be accepted if they meet the following requirements: Be issued by a recognised bank, Display the Visa or Master Card logo and hologram, Display the Cardholder Name and Display the Card Number. Prepaid and Reloadable Debit Cards as well as Travel Cards and EFTPOS cards will not be accepted. The amount of the deposit is not debited to the card at rental collection; an authority only is taken until the conclusion of the rental when any applicable charges will be debited.

Credit Card Fee: 

- A credit card transaction fee is applicable to all credit and debit transactions.
