RENTAL PERIOD:

- Rates are calculated on 24-hour
periods (1 day).

- For additional hours, an extra day
will be charged and is payable direct to
Budget by the renter.

RATES:

- Rates are stated in Australian Dollars
and are available at Budget Australia
Tour Program Participating Locations.

Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF): Included
in Rate. Applicable to all Australian
Rentals.
Administration Fee: Included in the rate
and applies to all Australian rentals at
a charge of approximately 3.5%. Also
applies to any additional items not
included in the rate which are payable
directly to Budget at time of rental.
Goods & Services Tax (GST): Included in
Rate. Tax rate is 10%. Also applies to
any additional items not included in the
rate which are payable directly to
Budget at time of rental.
Premium Location Surcharge (PLS) /
Concession Recovery Fee (CRF): Included
in Rate. Fee may also apply to any
additional items which are payable
directly to Budget at time of rental.
The fee varies between locations and may
be calculated at up to 33%.
Loss Damage Waiver: Included in Rate.

Rates include 200 kilometres per day.

DRIVERS LICENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

- Budget Australia will rent to drivers
that present a current drivers licence
and have held that licence for 12
months.

- Budget Australia will not rent to any
person on a Provisional or Probationary
drivers licence.

- If foreign licence is in a language
other than English, it must be
accompanied by an International Drivers
Permit (containing an English
translation).

COVERAGE OPTIONS:
Loss Damage Waiver:

Loss Damage Waiver is the coverage
(included in the rates) provided on the
rental vehicle and Third Party Property,
which is subject to the excess. Loss
Damage Waiver is subject to terms and
conditions detailed on the rental
agreement.

Standard Accident Excess: 

When a Budget vehicle is involved in an
accident the excess is applicable
providing the vehicle is used in
accordance with the Terms and Conditions
of the rental agreement and the laws of
the state. Failure to adhere to the
Terms and Conditions and laws of the
state will result in the renter being
responsible for all damage and costs
associated with the vehicle.

The cost of repairing
any:&#8216;Overhead Damage&#8217; means
damage (excluding hail damage) to the
Vehicle during the Rental Period above
the top of the front and back
windscreens, damage to the box section
of a commercial vehicle above the front
windscreen or damage to third party
property, caused by the Vehicle coming
into contact with anything overhanging
or obstructing its path, objects being
placed on the roof of the Vehicle, or
You or any person standing or sitting on
the roof of the Vehicle;
&#8216;Underbody Damage&#8217; means
damage to the Vehicle during the Rental
Period caused by the Vehicle coming into
contact with anything below the bottom
of the door seal and the bottom of the
front and rear bumper bars where Avis
considers, acting reasonably, that the
driver of the Vehicle is reasonably at
fault for that damage; You driving the
Vehicle in a manner that results in
total or partial inundation or immersion
of the Vehicle in water or exposure of
the Vehicle to salt water (including,
without limitation, damage which occurs
as a result of You driving the Vehicle
through floods, creeks or rivers);
damage to the Vehicle caused by a breach
of clause 3, 4.1, 5.1 or 5.6 of the Avis
Australia Rental Terms and Conditions
(save, in respect of clause 4.1(m), for
minor infractions); damage to a tyre or
an Accessory not attributable to Fair
Wear and Tear that is caused
deliberately or recklessly by You; theft
of the Vehicle, unless You report the
Vehicle as stolen to the police
immediately on becoming aware of the
theft and provide a copy of the police
report to Avis as soon as you receive
it; or loss or damage to Your property,
the property of a member of Your
immediate family or of a person related
to You if that loss or damage is from a
breach of these terms and conditions.
Water damage to the Vehicle Damage to
the Vehicle or to the property of any
third party caused by a breach of the
Rental Agreement.Damage to a tyre or an
Accessory not attributable to normal
wear and tear The cost of any
professional cleaning or odour
extraction incurred by Avis because the
driver or another person has been
smoking in the Vehicle during the Rental
Period and/or a reasonable
administrative fee reflecting the cost
of making arrangements for professional
cleaning or smoke extraction.For the
purposes of paragraphs (a) to (g) above,
any reference to You includes an
Authorised Driver and any person You or
the Authorised Driver allow to drive the
Vehicle


AGE REQUIREMENTS:

- CCAR, ICAR Vehicles - minimum 21 years
of age.

- SCAR, CFAR, FCAR, FVAR, IFAR, FFAR,
PFAR- minimum 25 years of age.

- No maximum age applies.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS:

Additional Driver fees will apply to
each individual driver - with the
exception of the lead driver's spouse.

- AUD5.50 including GST per day, per
additional driver.

- Maximum charge AUD27.50 including GST
per additional driver (5 day max
charge).

- It is essential that proof of a valid
driver's licence is provided and that
the additional driver signs the rental
agreement.

- The spouse of the lead driver includes
someone (of any gender) they are married
to or in a relationship with. 

ONE WAY RENTAL POLICY:

All vehicles must be collected from and
returned to Kangaroo Island locations.

RESTRICTED DRIVING ROADS / AREAS:

Night driving is not permitted on
Kangaroo Island. If an accident occurs
between dusk and dawn, the renter will
be responsible for all damage
irrespective of circumstances.

PETROL:

Budget rental vehicles are supplied with
a full tank of petrol. Any refuelling
costs are at the renter's expense.

If the renter returns the vehicle with
less than a full tank, refuelling costs
are payable directly to Budget.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Budget reserves the right to amend all
charges.

- Frequent Flyer / Traveller points are
not applicable.

Miscellaneous Charges

- Vehicle Registration Fee,
Administration Fee, Concession Recovery
Fee or Premium Location Surcharge, One
Way rental fees, kilometre charges,
petrol deposit and tax are subject to
change without prior notification.

Optional Charges

- Excess Reduction, Child Safety Seats,
Portable GPS and any other additional
products purchased at time of rental are
subject to change without notification
and are payable directly to Budget at
the time of rental.

- Rates include GST but optional charges
may also attract an Administration Fee
and Concession Recovery Fee or Premium
Location Surcharge.

- Child Infant Seats, Child Safety Seats
or Child Booster Seats - Available on
request (price includes GST): Daily
AUD22.00 per day, to a maximum charge of
AUD88.00 per rental. This is payable
directly to Budget at time of rental.

Deposits

- All rentals are subject to a deposit
at the time of vehicle collection to
cover miscellaneous/optional charges,
and may also have to cover the
applicable vehicle coverage options
excess and a AUD100.00 fuel bond. A
credit or debit card is required. Budget
Australia accepts all major credit
cards. Debit cards will be accepted if
they meet the following requirements: Be
issued by a recognised bank, Display the
Visa or Master Card logo and hologram,
Display the Cardholder Name and Display
the Card Number. Prepaid and Reloadable
Debit Cards as well as Travel Cards and
EFTPOS cards will not be accepted. The
amount of the deposit is not debited to
the card at rental collection; an
authority only is taken until the
conclusion of the rental when any
applicable charges will be debited.

Credit Card Fee: 

- A credit card transaction fee is
applicable to all credit and debit
transactions.

attributable to Fair Wear and Tear.You
driving the Vehicle in a manner that
results in total or partial inundation

(including, without limitation, damage
which occurs as a result of You driving
the Vehicle through floods, creeks or
rivers); damage to the Vehicle caused by
a breach of clause 3, 4.1, 5.1, 5.8 or
7.1 of the Budget Rental Terms and
Conditions (save, in respect of clause
4.1(n), for minor infractions) by You;
damage to a tyre or an Accessory not
attributable to Fair Wear and Tear that
is caused deliberately or recklessly by
You; theft of the Vehicle, unless You
report the Vehicle as stolen to the
police immediately on becoming aware of
the theft and provide full details of
the theft and provide a copy of the
police report to Budget as soon as you
receive it; or loss or damage to Your
property, the property of a member of
Your immediate family or of a person
related to You or a person residing at
Your premises if that loss or damage is
from a breach of these terms and
conditions by You. if the vehicle is
returned in an excessively poor
condition (excluding Fair Wear and Tear)
and/or if You or any other person has
been smoking in the vehicle (in breach
of clause 4.1 (i) of the Budget Rental
Terms and Conditions); You may be
required to pay the cost of any
professional cleaning or odour
extraction reasonably incurred by Budget
and a reasonable administrative fee
reflecting the cost of making
arrangements for professional cleaning
or odour extraction.For the purposes of
paragraphs (a) to (g) above, any
reference to You includes an Authorised
Driver and any person You or the
Authorised Driver allow to drive the
Vehicle.

Cancellation Policy

Valid for 01APR23-31MAR25:

- No cancellation fee will be charged if
the rental is cancelled prior to rental
