Discover an unforgettable Indigenous cultural experience right at the door-step of Cairns. The Mandingalbay Yidinji (MY) people have lived in harmony with their environment for tens of thousands of years.

This tour allows you to immerse yourself in the world of the MY people, visiting places of significance leaning about native food, medicines and other resources found in the rainforest. You will be welcomed with a traditional smoking ceremony by men or a simple welcome using mugra (traditional paint) on the face or forearm if performed by women. MY people will personally guide you, sharing ancient knowledge and insights into Indigenous customs. Guests gain an understanding of the connection between Country and Aboriginal culture.

Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tours is committed to ensuring the health and safety of customers and staff when travelling on any cultural tours, staying overnight on a camping tour, or taking part in any Deadly Dinner events. In accordance with the Queensland Government public health directive, Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tours continue to ensure that all tour staff are fully vaccinated.
GENERAL MEASURES IMPLEMENTED AS MANDATORY INCLUDE:
All person must sanitise hands on boarding vessels (hand sanitiser will be provided). Cashless transactions preferred. Hand sanitising and hand wash stations throughout vessels. Staff training and awareness of COVID safe practices. Signage displayed onboard. Mandingalbay Authentic Indigenous Tour has the right to refuse participation in tours and activities should customers refuse to comply with the conditions of COVID safe practices.
STAFF SCREENING:
All staff are aware that they MUST NOT attend work if they have any symptoms potentially consistent with COVID-19. Staff screening will be undertaken prior to commencement of each workday.
CLEANING and HYGIENE - ADDITIONAL COVID-19 MEASURES:
Customers and staff will be provided access to hand sanitisers. Additional cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and washroom facilities will be completed throughout your visit with us. These general guidelines follow the Queensland Health and Australian Government Department of Health current recommendations. Advice will be amended in accordance with the most up to date recommendations.
