A taste of Hobart's unique natural beauty and some of its harsh pasta contrasting tour of breathtaking scenery with views from kunanyi/Mt wellington to the harsh stories of life as a female convict inside the female factory. On a clear day the views from Mt wellington are stunning. In the winter perhaps you will be playing in the snow but whatever the weather, take the opportunity to visit iconic Mt Wellington (The traditional indigenous name in Palawa Kani language is kunanyi). On this fully escorted tour we pass through various eco systems and experience the harsh alpine environment of the mountain. As we ascend, view the massive rock formation of the Organ pipes. After our descent from the mountain, we tour the Cascades female factory for an insight into the lives of the women convicts once imprisoned there. You will have time to explore the site on the self-guided Cascades Female factory audio experience and learn about convict life and a largely untold story of convict women and the role they have played in developing modern Australia Wander through the site at your own pace and peruse the gallery, gift shop.
