Summary:

The stunning beaches and blue waters of the Mornington Peninsula are loved by locals and visitors alike. Protected from the open ocean, the bay side of the Peninsula is the ideal location get wet and meet some local residents on a swim with bottlenose dolphins and Australian fur seals. An early departure from Melbourne city will head directly to the idyllic hamlet of Sorrento, an ever-popular holiday isle for locals and the site of Victoria’s first European settlement, named for the Italian coastal scenery it evokes images of. From Sorrento pier it’s time to board your dolphin and seal sightseeing and swimming cruise aboard the purpose-built Moonraker – Australia’s most awarded eco adventure company. Equipped with snorkels and wetsuits you’ll enter the water in small groups with a guide, as the dolphins swim close by, surfing the waves and playfully showing off. Enjoy a hot shower and morning tea while aboard. After the morning’s adventure, you’ll have worked up an appetite for a delicious lunch. Heading to the Red Hill region of the Peninsula, you’ll be rewarded with the sumptuous flavours of Red Gum BBQ – a casual dining hall serving hearty local fare. The afternoon will be at your leisure to indulge in the land-based delights of the Peninsula – try out some summer berry fruit picking at local orchards, visit the Mornington Peninsula Chocolates or Main Ridge Dairy, or perhaps stop at Moonlit Sanctuary, a conservation park home to more than 200 animals and birds set across 10 hectares of bushland.
