Saffire Freycinet - Saffire Freycinet

Saffire Freycinet

Designed by award-winning Tasmanian architects Morris Nun and Associates, the buildings are conceptually organic, reflecting the surrounding environment which evokes a connection to the sea, through references to waves, sea creatures and sand dunes. The main lodge resembles a giant stingray featuring curved cathedral ceilings, which create a dramatic sense of space, as well as natural materials such as honed marbel, Tasmanian oak, grey iron bard, celery top pine and recycled Sydney blue gum. It features a communal lounge area which is bordered by a fireplace on one side and the view on the other.

Please note this is a non smoking property.

Driving Info:

Saffire is about 2.5 hours drive from Hobart (195km) although Saffire recommend allowing three hours for a comfortable drive. Travelling from Hobart take the Tasman Highway (A3) to Sorell and continue up the East Coast through Orford and Swansea. Still travelling north along the Tasman Highway (A3) you come across the Coles Bay turnoff (C302) to your right. The turnoff is very well signposted, but it can come upon you quickly. From the turnoff, Saffire is approximately 25km along Coles Bay Road on the right.

Heading to Saffire from Launceston (approximately 2.5 hours), take the Midland Highway (A1) to Campbell Town and turn left onto the B34 heading towards Lake Leake. Continue along the B34 until you reach the Tasman Highway (A3). From there turn left, heading north up the coast until you reach the Coles Bay turnoff (C302 - approximately 10 kms). Saffire is on the right about 25km along Coles Bay Road.

Driving at night, especially around dawn and dusk can be hazardous as the wildlife is abundant at those times. Caution should be taken at any time however.
